Join Chef Cynthia B for an informative session of New Zealand Wines & Foods
In this online class, we will learn about the differences between the North and South Island and taste some world-class wines.
We’ll discuss the diversity of New Zealand’s most heavily planted grape Sauvignon Blanc. Chef will discuss the differences in the wine from the Hawke’s Bay, Waipara, Marlborough, Nelson, Wairau Valley, and Central Otago regions.
Chef offers information on NZ’s other famous grape: Pinot Noir, and the differences it shows in the different growing regions.
Chef Cynthia will lead a sampling of sparkling wine, 2 Sauvignon Blancs, Gruner Veltliner, Riesling, 2 Pinot Noirs, and a Syrah.
Although there are not many products from New Zealand that we can obtain here in CA, Chef will do her best to recreate popular dishes from the country.
Class supplies will be shipped to you:
- 10 month aged gouda
- Triple Cream Brie
- Cave Aged Gruyere
- Braeburn Apple Chutney with monukka honey
- Lamb Pasty or Mushroom Pasty if you don’t eat lamb
- KeriKeri Corn Salad
- Sweet Potato and Ginger Mash
- Smoked Salmon and Chive Muffins (or just chive if you don’t like salmon)
